Gift of Nature: Watermelon A Natural Viagra

Gift of Nature: Watermelon A Natural Viagra

A cold piece of melon has long been a 4th of This summer holiday choice. But according to recent reports, the luscious fruits and vegetables may be better suited for Valentines Day. That is because researchers say melon has substances that deliver Viagra-like results to the body veins                                   and may even increase sexual interest.

“The more we analysis watermelons, the more we recognize just how amazing a fruits and vegetables it is in providing natural boosters to the program,” said Dr. Bhimu Patil, home of Florida A&M’s Fruit and Veggie Improvement Center in College Place.
“We’ve always known that melon is excellent for you, but the list of its very important healthy advantages develops longer with each analysis.”
Beneficial substances in melon and other fruits and vegetables and veggies are known as phyto-nutrients, naturally sourced substances that are bioactive, or able to respond with the program to induce healthy responses, Patil said.
In watermelons, these include lycopene, try out carotene and the rising star among its phyto-nutrients – citrulline – whose valuable functions are now being unraveled. Among them is the ability to rest veins, much like The blue pill does.
Scientists know that when melon is absorbed, citrulline is transformed to l-arginine through certain minerals. Arginine is an protein that works amazing things on the center and movement and preserves a excellent defense mechanisms, Patil said.
“The citrulline-arginine relationship allows center wellness, the defense mechanisms and may confirm to be very helpful for those who suffer from being overweight and type two diabetes,” said Patil. “Arginine increases nitric oxide supplements, which calms veins, the same basic effect that The blue pill has, to cure erection issues and maybe even prevent it.”
While there are many emotional and physical issues that can cause erection problems, extra nitric oxide supplements could help those who need increased blood veins movement, which would also help cure angina, hypertension and other heart issues.
“Watermelon may not be as body organ specific as The blue pill,” Patil said, Yet it’s a great way to rest veins without any drug side-effects.”
The advantages of melon don’t end there, he said. Arginine also allows the urea pattern by eliminating ammonia and other toxins from our bodies.
Citrulline, the forerunner to l-arginine, is discovered in greater levels in the skin of watermelons than the skin. As the skin is not commonly absorbed, two of Patil’s other researchers, drs. Bob Master and Hae Jeen Hit, are working to reproduce new types with greater levels in the skin.
In addition to the analysis by Florida A&M, watermelon’s phyto-nutrients are being analyzed by the U.S. Division of Agriculture’s Farming Research Service in Road, Ok.
As an extra, these analysis have also proven that deep red types of melon have removed the tomato as the lycopene king, Patil said. Almost 92 % of melon is water, but the staying 8 % is packed with lycopene, an anti-oxidant that defends the individual center, prostate and skin wellness.
“Lycopene, which is also discovered in red grape fruit, was traditionally thought to exist only in tomato vegetables,” he said. “But now we know that it’s discovered in greater levels in red melon types.”
Lycopene, however, is fat-soluble, significance that it needs certain body fat in the blood veins for better intake by one's human body, Patil said.
“Previous assessments have proven that lycopene is much better absorbed from tomato vegetables when combined in a healthy salad with greasy vegetables like grape or green spinach,” Patil said. “That would also apply to the lycopene from melon, but I recognize combining melon with green spinach or avocadoes is a very try to sell you.”
No analysis have been performed to determine the moment of the consumption of greasy vegetables to improve lycopene intake, he said.
“One final bit of advice for those 4th of This summer watermelons you buy,” Patil said. “They store much better uncut if you leave them at 70 degrees. Lycopene levels can be managed even as it rests on your kitchen floor. But once you cut it, chill. And enjoy.”
